When I sat down to write Shara, one of the things I knew I didn’t want to change much was my voice and my style and the sense of humor that my books have. I didn’t want them to feel condescend to, or like I was all of a sudden handling them with kid gloves. And I didn’t want it to all of a sudden feel like I was talking down to them or changing the way I spoke to them when they picked up a book that was written for their age group.
